Supporting Small Businesses

| May 11, 2021

When you support a small business and shop local, you are then pouring back into your community which is good for everyone involved. We were all affected by Covid-19 and the inability to go out and peruse our local shops and restaurants in the community, but small businesses were hit particularly hard in 2020 due to this handicap. People opted for the safety and convenience of online shopping from major retailers, leaving small business scrambling and struggling to keep up with the expedited shipping and ease provided by the larger businesses. As a small business ourselves, we often patronize our local Westerville businesses and wanted to share with you a few reasons why you should shop local and support small businesses in your community as well.

Pouring into The Community

As previously mentioned, when you shop local and support small businesses you are then pouring money back into the community. This helps to stimulate the local economy, creates more jobs, and keeps more money local. You are supporting someone who most likely lives near you, is invested in the quality of life in the community like you and will more than likely pour the money back into the community as you.

Improved Quality of Products

Small business owners care about the quality of products or services that they are providing you. A lot of work goes into sourcing the products that they will sell, making sure that they are top quality so that customers will return again and again. Another perk when shopping local is that you are more likely to purchase something that is unique or one-of-a-kind instead of mass produced.

Customer Service Matters

Each and every customer is particularly important when it comes to small businesses. They want to turn you into a repeat customer and hope that you will recommend their business to others as well. That means that customer service is a priority to then which then turns into a better overall experience for you. If something is wrong, they will be keen to resolve the issue quickly as opposed to giving you the run around like some big businesses.

These are just a few good reasons why shopping small and supporting local business can help you and your beloved community. Hopefully, this has inspired you to be more conscious in the way that you shop and where your money is being spent.
